INFORMATION ABOUT CANCELLATION OF THE LOGISTICS CAPABILITY CONFERENCE 2020

MAIN TOPICS

LCC 2020 is a professional event with the following potential topics:

PREAMBLE

Multinational Logistics Coordination Centre (MLCC) is a multinational military organization based in Prague, Czech Republic, whose aim is to build and/or enhance multinational logistics capabilities, reduce logistics shortfalls and costs by providing multinational solutions.

The MLCC's main objectives also include coordination of logistic education, training and exercises as well as international logistic cooperation. Since 2016 the MLCC has been performing the role of the Department Head for NATO Logistics Education and Training. In 2017 the MLCC expanded its portfolio in support of EUMS by taking over the role of EU Discipline leader for multinational logistics. Another great example of the MLCC activity is Capable Logistician (CL) series exercises. Capable Logistician 2013 (CL13) was the first of Logistics Interoperability and Standardization Field Training Exercises, which was planned and organized by the MLCC and supported by Slovakia as a Host Nation. This exercise was great demonstration of NATO Nations' dedication to support common effort to maintain and develop multinational logistics capabilities together with partners. In the wake of the tremendous success of CL13, the MLCC continued its efforts to train and test logistic capabilities in international/multinational environment and organized Capable Logistician 2015 (CL15) supported by Hungary as a Host Nation and Capable Logistician 2019 (CL19) supported by Poland as a Host Nation.

The common aim of those exercises was to train theatre logistics aspects (3rd level logistics), assess the level of interoperability of participating nations' logistical systems, equipment and procedures in various areas of logistics. 35 nations seized the opportunity to train and exercise multinational capabilities by deploying approx. 1000 personnel and around 600 pieces of equipment to each of exercise. Following up on success of those events, MLCC is planning to continue in Capable Logistician series of logistic exercises.

Logistics Capability Conference 2020 (LCC 2020) following Logistics Capability Conferences in 2014, 2016 and 2018, presents another MLCC's contribution to common effort in the area of Logistics Capabilities Development.

LCC 2020 will bring together the international logistic community for discussions focused on specific logistic functional areas as well as the latest trends and developments in the field of defence and security. Current global financial and security situation requires necessity to cooperate even more than ever in the field of logistics - cooperate on solid basis understanding of all aspects with rational acceptation of risks. This event will try to highlight the need for interoperability, the need for deeper cooperation with science and research to eliminate current and future threats. Alliance's main objective is to have forces well prepared to undertake the full range of its missions, as well as to address future challenges wherever they may arise. It will require a coherent set of deployable, interoperable and sustainable forces equipped, trained, exercised, commanded and able to operate together and with partners in any environment.

One of the ways to achieve this ambition leads through NATO Smart Defence initiative. It is a renewed culture of cooperation that encourages Allies to cooperate in developing, acquiring and maintaining military capabilities to undertake the Alliance’s essential core tasks agreed in the new NATO strategic concept.
