Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague at Future Forces 2022
05.10.2022
FBMI participates in national and international projects to the greatest possible extent, with special emphasis on engineering and professional medical approaches in cooperation with companies working on applications, and on the transfer of results into practice. Scientific work at the faculty is concentrated into eighteen scientific teams. We focus on projects that link the fields of technology, medicine, health and social services, and rescue services.
We will present the following exhibits:
An intelligent security surveillance system for soldiers and IZS (Integrated Security System) members: This is a multi-sensor monitoring system based on artificial intelligence designed to reduce risk, protect the health and safety of soldiers and IZS members in real time, and support leadership decision-making. The system can be used for mass monitoring during routine events, and also during Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) threats in terrain that is difficult to access.
SiReFo-Fire: A device for simulating the force effects of a firearm on a shooting simulator and recording the force effects of long handguns during shooting. This device can measure the movement of the weapon and the shooter during shooting, and can evaluate the postural stability of the shooter's body.
A device for measuring the mental and physical state of persons in ICE (Isolated, Confined, Extreme) environments: A device consisting of a camera system and a wearable system for measuring physiological data 24/7, which estimates the emotional state and the state of concentration of crew members in ICE environments, and continuously evaluates the health state of crew members.
A system for measuring the posture of the body of army specialists: A system consisting of cameras and load-bearing platforms for measuring and evaluating the position of body segments and the position of the centre of gravity of the body during medical examinations. With these measurements, the system evaluates the state of health of the musculoskeletal system.
Testing protective clothing against stabbing: A demonstration (with a poster) of the system and the SW for testing protective clothing against stabbing. The device tests materials according to standards by various force effects and various types of tips.
The Czech Technical University in Prague is one of the biggest and oldest technical universties in Europe.
CTU currently has eight faculties (Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Science and Physical Engineering, Architecture, Transportation Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, and Information Technology) and six other elements (the Masaryk Institute of Advanced Studies, the Klokner Institute, the Institute of Physical Education and Sport, the Institute of Technical and Experimental Physics, the University Centre for Energy-Efficient Buildings, and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics). There are more than 19 000 students at the university. CTU graduates are sought out by specialists in many fields, by innovative and internationally successful scientists, and by managers, among others.
